Registration for the American Booksellers Association’s 2014 Children’s Institute in San Antonio, Texas, is open, and booksellers are encouraged to sign up now to secure a spot at this all-day networking and educational event for children’s booksellers.

The institute will open on Sunday, April 6, with an evening plenary session featuring bestselling author Brad Meltzer and will be followed by a poolside reception, weather permitting.

A full day of programming will be held on Monday, April 7, beginning with a breakfast plenary and continuing throughout the day with educational workshops, author talks, a rep picks lunch, roundtable discussions, and a closing reception. Program topics include censorship in schools, diversity in children’s literature, child development and literacy, and more.

Registration for the Children’s Institute is open to booksellers at all ABA member stores, with a maximum of three registrants per member business. The conference fee is $79 per person and is nonrefundable. A number of publisher-sponsored scholarships to the Children’s Institute will be awarded.
