Children’s Book Art Auction Underway

An auction of more than 70 pieces of art created for children’s books launched on eBay at noon EST today, November 26, and new pieces being added throughout the day. The Holiday Children’s Book Art Auction, which supports the free speech rights of kids, features many original works and high-quality prints by leading artists and illustrators working in the book industry today, including Eric Carle, Chris Raschka, Judy Schachner, Bob Staake, Tom Lichtenheld, and Alexandra Boiger. ABFFE President Chris Finan is encouraging booksellers to help promote the auction by featuring a web badge on their store sites and connecting it to eBay using the link here.

The holiday auction is the online version of the ABFFE auction held during BookExpo America (BEA). Both auctions support the Kids’ Right to Read Project (KRRP) and Banned Books Week, the national celebration of the freedom to read. KRRP, which was founded by ABFFE and the National Coalition Against Censorship, helps students, parents, teachers, librarians and booksellers fight book censorship in schools and libraries.
