New Appointments Made to Penguin Random House’s Sales Team

Several new senior sales leadership positions have been filled by Penguin Random House, U.S. President and COO Madeline McIntosh announced on Tuesday.

Felicia Frazier is now senior vice president, director, young readers sales, Penguin Random House, with Random House Children’s and Penguin Young Readers’ sales departments reporting directly to her. Frazier was formerly senior vice president, director, sales, Penguin Young Readers.

Jaci Updike is now senior vice president, director, adult sales, Penguin Random House. She was formerly senior vice president, director, adult sales for Random House. The Penguin Paperback and Distributor Sales group, the Penguin Hardcover Sales group, the Penguin Online & Digital Sales group, and the Random House Adult Sales group leaders will report to Updike.

Katya Shannon has been appointed vice president, director, special markets, Penguin Random House. She was previously vice president, director, adult hardcover field sales for Penguin. Random House and Penguin special markets and gift sales directors and managers will report to Shannon.

Julie Black will now serve as vice president, director, sales strategic planning for Penguin Random House Sales. She was formerly in the same position at Random House.

Joan Demayo will be a direct advisor to McIntosh on issues related to sales and business development and will step down as senior vice president, director, Random House Children’s Sales and special markets.

Two Clients Join Ingram Publisher Services

Ingram Publisher Services Inc. announced on Monday the addition of two new publisher clients: Köehler Books and Linden Publishing.

Linden Publishing produces original nonfiction under the imprints of Linden Publishing, Craven Street Books, and Quill Driver Books. Ingram will handle its sales and distribution for books and gift items in the U.S. and Canada.

Köehler Books publishes fiction in the genres of contemporary women, young adult, Christian, and mystery titles, as well as how-to and self-help nonfiction titles. Ingram will handle its sales and distribution in the U.S. and Canada.

Ingram will also provide both publishers with Ingram’s CoreSource® and MyiLibrary® platforms for e-book distribution and Lightning Source® for on-demand book manufacturing.

Grammy Win for Stephen Colbert and Hachette Audio

Hachette Audio took home the Grammy on Sunday, January 26, for the Best Spoken Word Album (includes poetry, audiobooks, and storytelling) for the title America Again: Re-Becoming The Greatness We Never Weren’t by Stephen Colbert. This is the second Grammy win and the third nomination for Colbert.

Among the five titles nominated for the award, Hachette Audio produced three, including Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris and The Storm King by Pete Seeger. Other titles up for the award were Carrie and Me by Carol Burnett (Simon & Schuster Audio) and Still Foolin’ ‘Em by Billy Crystal (Macmillan Audio).
