Guggenheim-Lehrman Prize in Military History Details Announced

The inaugural Guggenheim-Lehrman Prize in Military History will be given on February 3, 2014, to a title that brings military history to the public as an important, educational, and interesting subject.

Eligible titles will be published between January 1, 2013, and November 1, 2013. A shortlist of finalists will be available in January 2014, and the grand prize winner will take home $50,000.

The seven-member judging committee includes historians, journalists, professors, and Josiah Bunting III, the president of the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation.

Silverberg to Leave Position as Literature Director at the National Endowment for the Arts

Effective July 11, Ira Silverberg will leave his post as the literature director at the National Endowment for the Arts, citing his need to return to New York. He will be replaced temporarily by literature program officer Amy Stolls.

“My time at the Endowment has been nothing but extraordinary,” said Silverberg. “Working with the field of not-for-profit presenters, service organizations, literary journals, and book publishers has been one of the great joys of my professional career.”

EBSCO eBooks Now Available on Ingram’s Oasis

More than 400,000 EBSCO eBooks™ have been added to Ingram’s OASIS® academic library platform. Librarians can now order EBSCO eBooks through the Ingram system, and OASIS users will see print titles alongside e-books for easy selection.

EBSCO teamed with Ingram’s academic library company Coutts Information Services to create the comprehensive collection of e-books. The OASIS content platform assists users with collection development, title acquisition, and bibliographic information and searching, with the ability to place and manage orders through the system.
