Book Sense Wants to Know...

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Book Sense is now in its sixth year as the national marketing program for independent booksellers, and because of the widespread participation of booksellers, it has had significant success in raising the awareness of independents among the book-buying public, publishers, authors, media, and literary agents.

As the program moves forward, ABA is soliciting feedback regarding the Book Sense Picks list. As part of that effort, the association is asking bookstores in the Book Sense program to participate in a short survey. Booksellers should watch for a Book Sense Picks Survey in the February Red Box. Or they can complete the survey online (click here) or download it in PDF format (click here). Completed surveys should be returned to Book Sense, Dept. S, 828 South Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591. They can also be faxed to (914) 591-2720.

In addition, a separate, consumer survey on the Picks list will be printed in the March Picks flier and will also be available on the BookSense.com site. As an incentive, consumers who complete the survey will be eligible to win all 20 titles featured in the March Picks flier. A winner will be chosen randomly no later than May 30 and will be notified by e-mail. (And booksellers are asked to encourage consumers to return their surveys to the address listed in the flier, or to fill out the survey online.)

Bookseller and consumer input will be invaluable in helping ABA plan and prioritize future Book Sense offerings.
