Booksellers, store owners, friends, and family are invited to participate in Trivia for Cheaters at the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance trade show next month, with all proceeds from the event going to benefit the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc) and its mission to assist booksellers in financial need.

As an added treat, Baker & Taylor is sponsoring a special appearance by John Densmore, former drummer for The Doors, who will rally attendees and speak about his recent book, The Doors: Unhinged, published by Percussive Press and distributed by Baker & Taylor.

The trivia challenge will be held on Thursday, September 19, at 5:30 p.m. at the Sheraton New Orleans, following ABA’s IndieCommerce Institute. Teams of four players each will compete for the title of SIBA Trivia Champions in a lively, one-hour competition. Attendees will enjoy watching stores competing against stores, rival cities vying for top prizes, and owners challenging buyers.

Teams will raise “Binc Bucks” to buy cheats that can help them win the competition. Cheats include the use of smartphones, answers to questions for an entire category, and the “purchase” of additional team members.

The Super Intelligent Brainy Adversaries (SIBA), the first team signed up for the competition, will include SIBA’s Executive Director Wanda Jewell and Lady Banks’ Nicki Leone.

See the official Rules of Play and Menu of Cheats for more details, and check out the Trivia for Cheaters event video to see the game in action.

Register to compete or donate to your favorite team today.
