Early bird rate ends May 8

On Wednesday, May 27, in conjunction with BookExpo America, Reed Expositions will be hosting the BEA Bloggers Conference, a day packed with education and networking opportunities.

Booksellers who have registered for free badges for the BEA trade show as part of the ABA VIP program can register online for the Bloggers Conference for $94 until May 8; after May 8 and on-site, the cost will be $115.

The conference program begins with the State of Blogging and Books Keynote at 9:00 a.m., moderated by Thea James, co-founder, editor, and book reviewer of The Book Smugglers. Panelists are Patty Chang Anker, author, blogger, and speaker; Ron Hogan, literary evangelist; and Kameron Hurley, author and blogger.

For bloggers at different levels of experience and with different interests, the rest of the day is broken into two tracks: Blogging at the Next Level and Building a Better Blog.

Blogging at the Next Level topics include:

  • Creative Content Opportunities With Your Blog
  • Tactics to Create Killer Content Fast
  • Best Practices for Interaction and Community Engagement
  • Going Beyond Blog Formatting

Building a Better Blog session topics are:

  • Optimizing Your WordPress Blog
  • Safely Navigating Social Media
  • Engaging Your Readers: Tips From Experienced Bloggers
  • Working with Publishers, Authors, and Promotions

The Bloggers Conference also includes plenty of opportunities for networking and blogger-to-blogger idea-sharing, including a networking lunch and raffle and an end-of-day networking celebration, featuring refreshments, a galley giveaway, and raffle.
