Author autographing programs at this year's BookExpo America will provide attendees the opportunity to meet a wide array of authors across many categories.

The ABA/Book Sense Lounge (Room 151 at the Washington Convention Center), open to ABA members only, will feature some of independents booksellers' Book Sense favorites from Friday, May 19, through Sunday, May 21. (For a preview of the schedule, click here; and stop by the Lounge beginning 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, for updates.

BEA's traditional Author Autographing Program returns this year with over 500 authors signing from Friday through Sunday. In addition to presenting a wide variety of books at all times, BEA highlights genres of special interest at specific times, allowing attendees to meet authors of most interest to them.

To help booksellers prepare their schedules for the show, here BTW presents an eight-page downloadable PDF detailing the BEA Author Autographing Program, including times and locations.

For specific celebrity authors, a limited number of complimentary tickets are distributed on-site each morning on a first-come basis. For these authors, a ticket is required to obtain an autographed copy of the book. This is done to ensure that crowds don't exceed the number of books that the author has available for signing. These authors are shaded in gray on the schedule. BEA's Autographing Program is open to any registered attendee.

To support the Book Industry Foundation, which includes the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression and the Association of American Publisher's Get Caught Reading Campaign, a one-dollar donation per autographed book is requested in the Autographing Area. Attendees may also choose to participate in the Gold Pass Program, which covers all of their autographed books with a one-time donation of $25. The Gold Pass Program also offers several additional benefits, including a "Front of the Line Pass" and a "one-time" pass, allowing you to bypass the crowd and go to the front of any one author's line.
