BookExpo America (BEA) has announced this year's full education conference program. BEA's education sessions will extend over four days, beginning Wednesday, June 1, and concluding on Saturday, June 4. All programming will take place at the Jacob K Javits Center in New York City, this year's convention site for BEA.

"Having been in the convention business for over a decade, I can say with absolute confidence that I have rarely seen such robust elective programming at such affordable prices at other events," noted Chris McCabe, BEA industry vice president and show manager, in a press release. "The education sessions at BEA have evolved to a point where they are on a par with some of the very best education programming in other industries, and they are provided at a fraction of the cost. Clearly, this is an aspect of convention activity that the industry embraces or it would not be so sophisticated. It should be utilized by everyone who attends BEA."

Convention organizers noted that, far from increasing the price for its education seminars, BEA has actually reduced the cost. Beginning last year, instead of charging "à la carte" for individual sessions, show management allowed free entrance to all sessions for convention attendees, while providing a similar blanket pass to publishers (i.e. exhibitors) for only $49.
