An Announcement, a Reminder, a Request, a Wish ...

Bookselling This Week will be taking a holiday next week. There will be no issue on Thursday, December 30; however, we will be publishing the Book Sense Bestseller List, which will be e-mailed to booksellers as usual on Tuesday, December 28, and posted to BookWeb.org by Wednesday afternoon. We would like to remind booksellers that it is crucial to keep reporting to the lists at this busiest time of year.

Bestseller lists published next week will reflect the last big surge of sales during the week of Christmas. Deadlines for reporting remain the same: 11:00 p.m. EST on Monday, through Nielsen BookScan; 3:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, by all other methods. Let your voice be heard, and your sales be counted by reporting sales for one of the busiest, if not the busiest week of the year.

When we return on Thursday, January 6, BTW will feature a post-holiday wrap-up. We'd love to hear about holiday experiences from as many booksellers as possible. We'd like to know how sales compared to last year; what the top sellers were; whether you sold gift cards and how sales of the cards compared to previous gift certificate sales; what your expectations are for the year ahead; and any other experiences you'd like to share with your colleagues.
