American Booksellers Association staff will be at the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association (NCIBA) trade show next week to offer educational programming and to meet with booksellers on the show floor. Booksellers who stop by the ABA booth can learn about membership specials and enter their names for an extra chance to win a scholarship to the Sixth Annual Winter Institute, to be held January 19 - 21, 2011, in Washington, D.C.

On hand at the show, which runs from October 14 – 16 at the Oakland Convention Center/City Center Marriott, will be ABA CEO Oren Teicher and Member Relationship Manager Kaitlin Pitcher.

In addition, ABA Technology Director Matt Supko will present “Practical Ways to Use IndieCommerce,” via Skype, from 1:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. on October 14. The session will feature a discussion on the updated IndieCommerce product, a Q&A period, and a demonstration.

Details about NCIBA programming and registration information can be found at www.nciba.com.

BookExpo America will be conducting a brief survey at the show to gather bookseller input on ways to make BEA 2011 even better. Booksellers are encouraged to stop by Booth 18, Table D, to take part in the survey. BEA will give participants $5 for sharing their opinions at the show. Booksellers who aren’t attending the NCIBA show can offer their input via the BEA survey online.
