ABA Board of Directors Nomination Deadline Approaches

There is still time to nominate candidates to serve on the American Booksellers Association Board of Directors. Any ABA member may submit nominations to the Nominating Committee, and all nominations will be held in the strictest confidence by the committee, which is chaired by Neal Coonerty of Bookshop Santa Cruz. Nominations must be received by October 6.

A candidate for the Board of Directors must be an ABA member who is the owner or employee of an independent bookstore with a storefront location that is operated according to sound business principles and must have at least three years of recent experience as an owner or employee of a member company. In addition, it is desirable that candidates have at least two years of experience as an active volunteer in ABA or a regional or other constituency organization, or possess similar experience.
