The results of balloting by ABA bookstore members to elect three board directors and to ratify the board's selection for president and vice president are now official. Elected to serve three-year terms as directors beginning June 2010 are Sarah Bagby of Watermark Books in Wichita, Kansas; Steve Bercu of BookPeople in Austin, Texas; and Tom Campbell of The Regulator Bookshop in Durham, North Carolina. For Bercu and Campbell, this will be their second three-year term on the board.

ABA membership also ratified the board's choice of Michael Tucker of Books Inc. in San Francisco to serve a second one-year term as ABA president and Becky Anderson of Anderson's Bookshops in Naperville, Illinois, to serve a second one-year term as vice president/secretary.

Ending her second term as a board director is Cathy Langer of Tattered Cover Book Store in Denver.

The ABA Board of Directors transition will take place at the end of May in conjunction with BookExpo America in New York City.

Continuing on the nine-member board are Betsy Burton of The King's English Bookshop in Salt Lake City, Utah; Dan Chartrand of Water Street Bookstore in Exeter, New Hampshire; Beth Puffer of The Bank Street Bookstore in New York City; and Ken White of SFSU Bookstore in San Francisco.

ABA's Town Hall and Annual Membership meeting will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., respectively, on Wednesday, May 26, in Room 1E10 of the Javits Convention Center. The Annual Meeting includes reports by ABA's president and CEO on the association's activities during the past year, a look at plans for the upcoming year, and more. The Town Hall offers ABA members the opportunity to express opinions and share ideas with the board and senior staff in a less formal setting.
