This month’s National Association of College Stores Campus Market Expo (CAMEX) Education Conference in Houston will feature two sessions presented by ABA COO Len Vlahos.

“Handselling: Customer Service With Results,” scheduled for Friday, February 25, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m., will examine how to take handselling to the next level through new and inventive digital means. Vlahos will share how booksellers are using video and social media to recommend books to customers and how those efforts can result in sales.

At “Techniques and Tactics for Online Website Promotion,” on Saturday, February 26, from 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., the focus will be on building relationships that extend from the store website, through search engines, and, ultimately, to the local community. From hyperlocal searches and affiliate marketing to advanced analytics and beyond, Vlahos will explain how booksellers can make the most of their websites to increase visitors and sales.

The CAMEX Education Conference, on Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26, the CAMEX Trade Show, from Sunday, February 27, through Tuesday, March 1, will be held at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center. Complete event schedules and registration information are available on CAMEX website.

On Thursday, February 24, the day before CAMEX kicks off, Vlahos and ABA CEO Oren Teicher will host ABA’s first Booksellers Forum of the season from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Katy Budget Books in Houston.
