2008 Winter Institute -- Save the Date!

What do Muhammad Ali, baseball bats, mint juleps, and UPS trucks have in common? They all hail from Louisville, Kentucky, site of the American Booksellers Association's Third Annual Winter Institute (a.k.a., WI3), taking place on January 24 - 27, 2008.

The Winter Institute is a two-and-a-half day education symposium, with classes on topics ranging from RFID to store design, to loss prevention, to how to be a "green" retailer, and much, much more. It will also include plenty of face time with next year's great authors.

The event, including most meals, is free to the owners and staff of ABA member bookstores. In addition, ABA has negotiated a great hotel rate.

Registration for both the event and hotel will officially open on August 30, 2007. Attendance at the Winter Institute will be limited to 500 booksellers, and registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

In the meantime, questions about the Winter Institute may be addressed to ABA Education Director Len Vlahos.
