How can we all have the best possible experience at Children’s Institute? Here are a few ideas!
Keep your camera on when and where possible; your colleagues want to see you!
At Ci9, you’ll be able to join on camera for the roundtables, receptions, and the workshop (if registered).
Many people will be joining from their home or store; background activity is to be expected, but do what you can to keep it tidy and to a minimum so fellow attendees don’t get distracted (but keeping yourself on camera is more important than anything!)
Mute yourself to avoid interrupting the event and to prevent audio feedback
Take advantage of the chat feature to talk with colleagues
When speaking or in the chat, be sure to share your store name!
Sessions have to start on time; join promptly so you don’t miss anything
If you have to leave a session or room, feel free to exit without comment
Pets are always welcome to make appearances! But we ask you to leave your meals until breaks.
The American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
Independent bookstores act as community anchors; they serve a unique role in promoting the open exchange of ideas, enriching the cultural life of communities, and creating economically vibrant neighborhoods.
