Independent Bookstore Day

In the first of two meetups on how to organize and market multi-store events, bookseller speakers will focus on Independent Bookstore Day and how regional businesses put together bookstore crawls and passports. 

At the fall regional trade shows, ABA will host an educational program that will offer an overview of the event and tips from booksellers who have successfully made the best of the national celebration.

These live online discussions feature expert booksellers sharing tips, tricks, advice, and insight with attendees.

Saturday, April 27, will mark the fifth annual Independent Bookstore Day, a one-day party taking place at indie bookstores nationwide.

Readers can now search an interactive map featuring more than 575 bookstores that will be selling special literary-themed merch on April 27, Independent Bookstore Day.

Booksellers have just a couple more days to place their orders for exclusive, literary-themed items for this year’s celebration of Independent Bookstore Day.

The catalog includes literary tea towels with quotes from Gertrude Stein and Louisa May Alcott, an On the Come Up journal from Angie Thomas, lapel pins of Toni Morrison, Neil Gaiman, and Margaret Atwood, and more.

Booksellers have until February 1 to place their orders for limited-edition merchandise, including signed editions from Chuck Palahniuk and Andrea Beaty, an exclusive vinyl from Charles Bukowski, and more.
