The award for this year’s Children’s Book Week display contest goes to Wild Rumpus bookstore in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for its creative garden-themed window design inspired by the exciting new children’s books springing up each season.

All Children’s Institute attendees planning to participate in the Backlist Book Swap party, which kicks off the institute on Tuesday, June 21, are reminded to pack their favorite kids’ book and a bookmark to share, and to let ABA know now what they’ll be bringing.

This Friday, May 20, is the final day to register for next month’s ABC Children’s Institute in Orlando, Florida.

The Kids’ Indie Next List flier arriving at stores in the upcoming Children’s White Box features the top 10 children’s titles for the summer publishing season and an additional 33 titles organized by age group, plus nine Revisit & Rediscover titles.

Thanks to the generosity of lead sponsor Baker & Taylor, 38 publisher sponsors, and the Book Industry Charitable Foundation, 53 ABA member booksellers will be attending this June’s ABC Children’s Institute on scholarship.

The ABC Children’s Group at ABA, which is dedicated to expanding the reach of children’s books, is a useful tool that all ABA member booksellers are invited to take advantage of. 

Clare McNeill aims to open Bel & Bunna’s Books, “a literary wonderland for children and young adults,” in Lafayette, California’s downtown shopping district by Memorial Day.

Booksellers are invited to enter this year’s Children’s Book Week display contest by mounting in-store or window displays celebrating children’s books and reading from April 30 through May 8.

On Friday afternoon, May 13, at BEA, ABA member booksellers and friends of the Children’s Book Council will have two opportunities to connect with children’s book authors and illustrators.
