Each year, ABA Bookstore Members in good standing may place up to four free two-week Classified Ad insertions in Bookselling This Week. BTW Classifieds are the perfect place for booksellers to place help wanted ads, advertise fixtures or stores for sale, and more.

At each of the regional trade shows scheduled for next weekend -- Mountains & Plains, New Atlantic, and New England -- the American Booksellers Association will be presenting educational programming, as well as demonstrations of Above The Treeline and Constant Contact.

The American Booksellers Association has announced the creation of an Emerging Leaders Scholarship, covering the cost of airfare to Portland, Oregon, and up to a three-night hotel stay at the 2007 Winter Institute headquarters hotel, the DoubleTree Portland, Lloyd Center. Booksellers at ABA member stores who are committed to furthering the success of independent bookselling are encouraged to apply.

The pirate-themed 2006 Great Lakes Booksellers Association (GLBA) Fall Trade Show will be held from Friday, October 6, through Sunday, October 8, at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn, in Dearborn, Michigan. Program highlights include author events with many Book Sense favorites, including Chris Bohjalian, Katrina Kittle, Ron McLarty, Gloria Whelan, and Michael Perry, and a GLBA Quiz Bowl with special guest, Ken Jennings, champion of television's Jeopardy.

American Booksellers Association staff, including CEO Avin Mark Domnitz, COO Oren Teicher, and Director of Education Len Vlahos, will be attending next week's Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) Fall Trade Show to present educational programming, to gather member input regarding ABA's next Strategic Plan, and more.

The 2006 Midwest Booksellers Association (MBA) Fall Trade Show will be held from Thursday, September 28, through Saturday, September 30, at St. Paul, Minnesota's RiverCenter.

The American Booksellers Association today announced the opening of registration for its Second Annual Winter Institute, to be held in Portland, Oregon, on Thursday and Friday, February 1 and 2, 2007. ABA member booksellers can now register for the Winter Institute's two full days of free programming, as well as make hotel reservations, through the association's trade website, BookWeb.org.

The 2006 New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association (NAIBA) Fall Trade Show will be held from Saturday, September 16, through Sunday, September 17, in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, at the Valley Forge Convention Center.

The New England Booksellers Association's (NEBA) 33rd Annual Trade Show will be held on Friday, September 15, through Sunday, September 17, at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This year's special events include the NEBA Awards Luncheon, a Children's Books Author/Illustrator Dinner, and NEBA's Dinner With Authors.
