Two Bookstores Find a Novel Way to Thank Customers

This past New Year's Day, two bookstores marked the holiday with successful celebratory sales events as a way to thank their customers. In Tempe, Arizona, Changing Hands Bookstore continued its tradition of holding a Customer Appreciation Day sale on January 1, while The King's English bookstore in Salt Lake City launched its first appreciation day, complete with hors d'oeuvres, champagne, and lots of handselling.

ABA/Bookseller Meetings Set for January

A series of meetings involving ABA and booksellers will be held in Santa Monica, California, from January 11 - 18. Included will be a meeting of the ABA Board, of ABA representatives and leadership of the regional booksellers associations, of the ABA Booksellers Advisory Council, and of the recently established BookSense.com User's Council. In addition, the first two ABA Booksellers Forums of 2003 are scheduled for that period.
