SIBA Moves
This week, the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance announced that in order "to expand its ability to serve its members, [it has] moved its location in both cyberspace and in the real world." Last week, a group of California residents who filed a petition protesting the impending move of the 10-year-old Greenbrae Barnes & Noble to the Corte Madera Town Center, a block away from Book Passage, were rebuffed by the town council and mayor, as reported by Marin Independent Journal (MIJ).
The deadline to return Curious George disposable cameras and be entered in a drawing for prizes has been extended to March 8. Stores can also send their own digital photos to Associate Book Sense Marketing Director Meg Smith at 
Under the American Booksellers Association's bylaws, in addition to Board of Director candidates put forth by the Nominating Committee and approved by the Board, any bookstore member may submit a petition for a director candidate. Upon receipt of a valid petition, the Nominating Committee will add the candidate's name to the director ballot. The deadline for receipt of petitions this year is Friday, March 3.
