Colorado Booksellers Struggling Through 'Unprecedented' Winter

Winter may only be half over, but booksellers in the Denver and Boulder, Colorado, regions have probably had enough snow and arctic temperatures for 10 winters. Since the week before Christmas, the area has been hit with nearly weekly snowstorms, interspersed with brutally cold temperatures, making it one of the toughest winters in recent memory for both residents and retailers.

NBN Makes a Counteroffer for PGW Clients

National Book Network (NBN) announced this week that it is offering Publishers Group West (PGW) publisher clients a distribution contract that would pay them 85 cents on the dollar against the bankrupt estate and would extend their existing contract term by three years beyond their next anniversary date. News of the offer comes two weeks after Perseus offered PGW clients a distribution contract for 70 cents on the dollar with a four-year contract extension.
