Vote Now on ABA Bylaws Change

The American Booksellers Association’s Board of Directors is strongly urging bookstore members to vote today on an important amendment to ABA’s bylaws, which, if passed, will increase the number of Board members from 10 to 11. The amendment must be approved by a majority vote of bookstore members, with at least 10 percent of the members voting, a level that has not yet been reached.
The change from 10 to 11 Board members would both increase the possibility for diversity among the Board’s members and prevent tie votes on important ABA governance matters.
Voting, which takes less than a minute, will close at midnight on October 26, 2015.
