Hotel ABA: Book by March 31 for Special Rate and Chance to Win Free Nights

This year’s Hotel ABA for BookExpo America 2014, the Grand Hyatt New York, offers booksellers single and double rooms at the special nightly rate of $265, plus tax (currently 14.75 percent New York State and City tax per room per night) and a $3.50 per night occupancy fee for stays from Monday, May 26, through Sunday, June 1, 2014. To receive the special rate, booksellers must book by midnight EST on Monday, March 31.

Every store in good standing that makes a reservation for a room (or rooms) at the Grand Hyatt by March 31 will be entered into a random drawing for free hotel nights, courtesy of BEA. There are 56 prizes, so the odds of winning are good, but only one winner per bookstore member is allowed. Prizes include:

• 1 grand prize of four free hotel nights (room and tax) 
• 5 second place prizes of three free hotel nights (room and tax)
• 15 third place prizes of two free hotel nights (room and tax)
• 35 fourth place prizes of one free hotel night (room and tax)

Details about special events at Hotel ABA will be provided in upcoming editions of Bookselling This Week and in a special BEA section on BookWeb.org. The Grand Hyatt New York is located at 42nd Street and Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan; BEA will provide shuttle buses from the Grand Hyatt New York to the Javits Convention Center and back.

ABA member booksellers are eligible to receive complimentary badges for entrance to the trade show. To receive free badges, ABA members must register via the BEA trade show site. An ABA member number is required.

BEA Conference Day, ABA programming, and the Remainders and Gift pavilions will open on Wednesday, May 28. The full trade show floor will be open Thursday, May 29, through Saturday, May 31.
