Holiday Art Auction in Final Hours

The American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression’s Holiday Children’s Book Art Auction on eBay will end on Tuesday afternoon, December 3. Buyers are competing for more than 80 pieces of art created for children’s books, including many original pieces by leading artists and illustrators. The 10 pieces with the highest bids are by Judy Schachner, Tom Lichtenheld, Eric Carle, Tom Angelberger, Chris Raschka, Karen Barbour, Karen Higham, Molly Idle and Aaron Becker. Many bargains remain. The holiday auction is the online version of the auction held annually during BookExpo America (BEA). The auction supports the Kids’ Right to Read Project (KRRP) and Banned Books Week, the national celebration of the freedom to read.
