AAUP’s Books for Understanding Looks at JFK

The most recent list of Books for Understanding from the Association of American University Presses focuses on former President John F. Kennedy for the 50th anniversary of his assassination.

The bibliographic resource highlights more than 50 titles from AAUP’s member presses and looks at Kennedy’s role in the White House and his life outside of it.

Books for Understanding is a free public service of AAUP that helps readers find relevant books based on current events.

Columbia University Press Welcomes Three Distribution Clients

Columbia University Press (CUP) has acquired three new distribution clients. Titles from CUP and its distribution clients can be ordered through Perseus Distribution in North America.

Effective January 1, 2014, academic publisher ibidem Press will begin working with Columbia. CUP will distribute frontlist and backlist English language titles in North America, South America, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia (excluding China and India). The deal will include German language titles in the future.

Also effective January 1, Harrington Park Press, which focuses on academic and scholarly titles and LGBTQ books, will begin distribution of its frontlist titles through CUP. Routledge/Taylor & Francis will continue distributing the press’s backlist titles.

On February 1, 2014, CUP will begin selling and marketing frontlist and backlist titles for Dalkey Archive Press, a publisher of fiction, poetry, and literary criticism, on a worldwide scale.

Simon & Schuster to Distribute for Victory Belt Publishing

Simon & Schuster announced on Monday that it signed an agreement with independent publisher Victory Belt Publishing, Inc., to handle the company’s worldwide sales and distribution for frontlist and backlist titles, effective February 8, 2014.

Victory Belt Publishing, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, publishes books on health and fitness.
