The New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association (NAIBA) fall trade show will be held on Sunday, October 24, and Monday, October 25, at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Sunday is a full day of educational programming capped by the evening's Movable Feast, and on Monday the trade show floor is open all day, and new this year, will feature a series of mini-workshops.

The trade show floor will be open from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The Upper Midwest Booksellers Association (UMBA) will hold its fall trade show from Friday, October 1, to Sunday, October 3, at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, Minnesota. Exhibit hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Education programming, all free this year, will be held on Friday, with one program, ABA's "Book Sense Gift Card Users Group," on Saturday.
On September 1, the Great Lakes Booksellers Association (GLBA) announced the winners of the 2004 Great Lakes Book Awards, which will be presented at a luncheon on Friday, October 8, during the GLBA fall trade show in Dearborn, Michigan. This year, the association split the children's award into two categories: picture book and chapter book.
