Six editors shared their favorite upcoming releases at the Editor's Buzz Panel at BookExpo America.

To help bookstores and libraries mark May is Latino Books Month, the Association of American Publishers' Publishing Latino Voices for America (PLVA) Task Force has teamed with the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and others to present a recommended reading list of children's books intended to foster "bookjoy" and to encourage families to read together. The list includes titles in English and in Spanish as well as bilingual titles, nonfiction, picture books, and novels, all celebrating Latino culture and Latin American identity.

Indie booksellers have long led debut authors and independent presses to the spotlight. In its six years of existence, Unbridled Books, an independent publisher of literary works, has seen independent booksellers select its titles more than 20 times for the monthly Indie Next List, with four of those titles having the distinction of being a number-one pick. The latest is Emily St.

When Tinkers won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for fiction last week, author Paul Harding was understandably elated, as was Erika Goldman, editorial director at Bellevue Literary Press, the book's publisher. So were several of the independent booksellers who had steadily handsold and promoted the book since it was published in January 2009.

HarperCollins Vice President for Independent Retailing Carl Lennertz has pulled together a second collection of regional essays inspired by State by State: A Panoramic Portrait of America (edited by Matt Weiland and Sean Wilsey, Ecco). Booksellers and librarians from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska contributed to the Pacific Northwest Reader, which is available now. The first regional collection, the Great Lakes Reader, was published last year.
