Reader’s Digest Names the 50 “Nicest Places in America” Honorees
Once again this year, Reader’s Digest’s held the Nicest Places in America Contest, in which participants nominated towns, cities, organizations, and businesses across America for the title of kindest, nicest place in the country.
For 2020, Reader’s Digest invited people to recognize those in their lives who stood up against COVID-19 as part of Nicest Places in America 2020: United in Kindness. This could include people or places in their town, stores, hospitals, social media feeds, food pantries, Zoom gatherings, and beyond.
On June 30, Reader’s Digest named the 50 honorees — one for each state. Honorees include a city in Florida, a health care nursing facility in Kentucky, a farm in New Mexico, a brewery in North Carolina, a café in Washington, and more.
In addition, Reader’s Digest partnered with More in Common, an organization with the goal of helping build a more united, resilient, and inclusive America. Together, they surveyed America to find out just how united people have become in local communities since the start of the pandemic. Read the results here.
