2020 WINTER INSTITUTE

Regular ABA member bookstores that have not attended the American Booksellers Association’s Winter Institute in the past 7 years are eligible for a scholarship to the 2020 event. Booksellers must have their owner or manager’s permission to submit an application. 

Winter Institute scholarships aim to create a more diverse attendee base and to offer educational and networking opportunities to booksellers who hope to make a career in the industry.

Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on Monday, July 8, 2019.

To assist scholarship discussions, you may include any relevant information on background, education, or experience, and/or what makes you a diverse candidate, whether in terms of race, class, gender, sexual identity, physical ability, cultural background, or something else.

Permission to submit a scholarship application from a store owner or manager is required.

By pressing “submit” you acknowledge that recipients are required to attend all publisher sponsored events where they have been assigned seating. A submission demonstrates interest in receiving a scholarship, but it does not guarantee selection. Winners will be announced in August 2019. You will be contacted directly if you have been selected for a scholarship.
