2025 CHILDREN'S INSTITUTE

ABA’s scholarship program aims to create a more equitable path to entry for booksellers and/or bookstore owners who hope to make a career in the industry, as well as booksellers/bookstore owners who might not be able to attend otherwise. The Children's Institute provides a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful professional development and education, in addition to networking and community-building opportunities for booksellers, authors, and publisher reps.

 

ABA is committed to awarding scholarships to booksellers from all backgrounds.

 

Scholarship recipients receive waived registration fees to in-person Children's Institute, a comped hotel room during the Institute, and up to $600 reimbursement for travel to and from the Institute. Children's Institute registration also includes 4 complimentary meals (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches), and 1 reception with light fare and refreshments.

 

Eligibility: 
  • Booksellers/Store Owners from ABA member stores. 
  • Booksellers who have been awarded a scholarship to Children's Institute 2024 or Winter Institute 2024 or 2025 are not eligible to apply for a Children's Institute 2025 scholarship.
 
Applications are due by 11:59 pm ET on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Please note: Scholarships are granted to individuals not store and as such they are NOT transferable. Any attendee unable to attend after accepting a scholarship will have to forfeit the scholarship so that ABA can hopefully extend the scholarship to someone else who applied but as a runner up.
