WBN Follow-Up: E-Books, an Essay Contest, Digital Downloads & More

World Book Night U.S. Executive Director Carl Lennertz sends the following reminders to booksellers in the wake of another successful celebration of the April 23 campaign dedicated to spreading the love of books and reading:

• Any extra boxes of WBN books should be taken to a school or nursing home;
   
• The WBN free e-book featuring 10 short stories and essays by booksellers, librarians, and authors who have been WBN participants is available for download until May 31;
   
• May 31 is also the deadline for submissions to the essay contest to be in next year’s e-book. The grand prize winner of the general giver contest will receive a pair of Jet Blue tickets to anywhere the airline flies in the U.S.; the grand prize-winning bookseller will receive a pair of plane tickets to BookExpo America 2015;
   
• A video of the seven-author World Book Night kickoff event at the New York Public Library is available at new.livestream.com/theNYPL/worldbooknight;
   
• And indie booksellers whose e-mail addresses WBN has will be offered three free digital audiobook downloads by Audiobooks.com.
