The transition from Edelweiss Classic to Edelweiss+ is progressing, and we have some dates to share.

Starting March 1, “reader” users (booksellers, librarians, bloggers, etc.) logging in to Edelweiss Classic will be redirected to Edelweiss+. (You will be able to go back to Edelweiss Classic if you have a real need, however.)

Publisher users will not yet be redirected.

We will be moving all users over to Edelweiss+ July 17 (with the caveat that this will not happen until all features are live and functioning on the new site).

With that in mind, here are links to the two webinars we’ve done so far that are relevant to booksellers:

Edelweiss will be hosting a new series of webinars, “Tuesdays With Treeline,” every Tuesday for the next few months. You can find the schedule of offerings here, and, of course, in the Edelweiss Weekly Newsletter. These webinars will be recorded and posted within the help documentation available for the new site.

Some of what we’re most excited about in Edelweiss+ is the deeper integration of Treeline data at the catalog and title level for those stores that subscribe to Treeline Analytics. This means that while going through catalogs or browsing titles in Edelweiss, Treeline subscribers can see if their store has history with a title, along with details of that history. This has always been the case for comparable titles in Edelweiss, but in Edelweiss+, you’ll see even more data.

Here’s a very quick tour of what already exists in Edelweiss+:

The expected sales and inventory history for comparable titles is available as before.

Also, titles you currently have on order or on hand at your store will have a nice, obvious indicator next to the order quantity fields:

You can even filter a catalog or a title list using this information.

For titles you see listed in catalogs, as well as for comp titles, you can see a more detailed graph of your store’s history:

And coming soon, the entire Treeline Analytics suite of tools will be fully integrated into Edelweiss+, with lots of incredibly useful new features, including the ability to receive unlimited customized e-mail alerts. For example, imagine getting an e-mail based purely on your own store’s data that basically says, “Hey, you’re out of a couple of big books right now.”

Here are a few teaser screenshots for you:

The Treeline Analytics tools are currently being built, integrated, tested, and fine-tuned. Keep an eye out for future announcements.
