Three New Gift Card Designs Unveiled

Booksellers will soon have three new occasion-specific Book Sense Gift Cards available to choose from: Happy Birthday, Congratulations, and Happy Holidays. To get a sneak peek -- and to order the cards in quantities of less than 100 -- visit the ABA/Book Sense Lounge (Room 1E 07-08) at BookExpo America. At BEA, booksellers can also order small quantities of generic cards and limited edition Harry Potter Book Sense gift cards. After the show, the new designs will be available through booksenseorders.givex.com.

The Happy Birthday card features a birthday cake; the Congratulations card is decorated with multicolored balloons; and the Happy Holidays card bears a magnified image of a snowflake. Matching presenters are available for each.

The costs for the new designs and the special Harry Potter gift cards are the same as for the other current card designs (22 cents per card for a minimum order of 100 generic cards; 31 cents for a minimum order of 250 imprinted cards.) In addition, there is the usual 50 cents per-card transaction fee, 8 cents per presenter, and shipping and handling charges. Booksellers should note that cards purchased at BEA will not be subject to shipping and handling charges. Invoices will be paid by ACH transfer. (For information on ACH transfer procedures, click here.)

To participate, stores must be part of the Book Sense Gift Card Program. (Stores may join the Book Sense Gift Card Program and place an initial order for Harry Potter gift cards while supplies last. Book Sense Gift Card Program information is available at www.bookweb.org/read/6303. Questions about the program should be addressed to ABA Marketing Director Jill Perlstein at [email protected].)
