There are three upcoming deadlines in July for the Book Sense Picks lists:

  • July 7 Fall Children's List
  • July 7 September Picks
  • July 14 Banned Books Top Ten

"These will be three important lists," said Book Sense Picks Editor-in-Chief Dan Cullen. "September is shaping up to be a very full month for a wide range of intriguing titles. The fall lists of kids' titles are always full of new books that independent booksellers will be enthusiastically handselling, and the Banned Books Top Ten has become a critical component in many stores' Banned Books Week campaigns."

To nominate titles to any of the lists, booksellers can just e-mail a few sentences about the title to [email protected], or they can use the convenient Web form at www.bookweb.org/read/6305.

Booksellers can always nominate either hardcover or paperback titles for the list. "If you're looking forward to handselling a particular title that will be released in its paperback edition, please, don't hesitate to nominate it for the Picks list," said Cullen. For the Banned Books Top Ten, either adult or children's titles can be nominated in hardcover or paperback.
