Retail Sales at Bookstores Down in July
Retail sales at bookstores were down by 5.1 percent in July 2014 compared to July 2013, according to preliminary figures recently released by the Bureau of the Census.
July 2014 bookstore sales are estimated at $707 million, compared to sales of $745 million for the same period last year.
Total retail and food service sales in July are estimated at $448.7 billion, compared to $428.1 billion in July 2013, an increase of 4.8 percent.
