Here's What You Just Did infographicTo encourage local shopping, the American Booksellers Association has refreshed three popular marketing materials for booksellers to use in print and digital format. These items are available now in the Marketing Assets section of BookWeb.org.

Here’s What You Just Did” clearly enumerates for customers what they have accomplished by shopping at an independent business. And, because the copy encompasses all indie businesses, it has become a key tool for booksellers who are reaching out to other locally owned businesses and independent business alliances in their communities.

Here’s What Amazon Just Did” outlines the toll Amazon takes on local communities based on 2018 data, including the loss of local and state tax revenue, the loss of retail jobs, and the loss of storefronts. This flier includes spaces where stores can customize the data based on their state statistics. State-by-state summary tables are available from Civic Economics.

Amazon’s Negative Impact to Your Community” offers a flow chart that details the impact of Amazon’s presence, including statistics on lost public revue, lost retail square footage, and lost jobs, as well as ways to help.

Visit BookWeb.org to see all of the new designs. Questions about using materials from the Marketing Assets section and/or requests for specific sizes should be addressed to ABA Web and Graphic Designer Melissa Napolitano.
