The Lit. Bar Hosts Soft Launch Events
- By Emily Behnke
Noëlle Santos, owner of The Lit. Bar, a bookstore/bar in the Bronx, announced on Instagram that grand opening plans for the store are currently underway.
To celebrate Women’s History Month, Santos partnered with 31 Agency to host an event on March 14 called, “Like She Owns the Place.” The Lit. Bar owner wrote on Instagram: “In honor of Women’s History Month, your favorite NYC fempreneurs are joining forces to celebrate & cultivate women’s futures. Join us for the ultimate evening focused on mind, body, soul & business.”
Along with Santos, Rosa Garcia, Raygrid Calderon, and Cara Alwill Leyba were among the featured speakers. Guests who attended the event received swag bags that included a copy of Leyba’s book, Like She Owns the Place: Give Yourself the Gift of Confidence and Ignite Your Inner Magic (Portfolio).
Santos also hosted the launch of Lilliam Rivera’s sophomore title, Dealing in Dreams (Simon & Schuster), declaring the event part of the “#TheHardestSoftLaunchEver” for The Lit. Bar. Rivera appeared in conversation with author Jason Reynolds, and the event, as well as Santos’ experience opening The Lit. Bar, was covered by Teen Vogue in an article titled, “The Lit. Bar Is the Bronx’s New Bookstore Putting Community First.”
Following these soft-launch events, Santos invited customers to the store on March 31 as she continued to work on grand opening plans. All books and merchandise in the store were available for purchase, but the bar was not yet open.
