LIBRIS Announces "It's Dividend Time"

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

LIBRIS (League of Independent Book Retailer Insurance Services), the insurance company created by ABA for the benefit of independent booksellers, has announced that it will soon be distributing dividends to participants in the program. Dividends to be distributed to ABA members are determined by a percentage of premiums paid on Business Owner Package and Workers' Compensation policies written from July 2002 through June 2003. Dividends distributed to non-ABA participants are equal to a smaller percentage of these premiums. Dividend checks will be mailed shortly.

LIBRIS was initially formed to provide insurance services exclusively to ABA members. In 1998, the program was opened up to non-ABA members.

The following is a brief listing of the insurance coverages offered by LIBRIS to meet the unique needs of booksellers: full replacement cost for buildings and business personal property; business interruption/extra expense; earthquake sprinkler leakage; glass -- interior/exterior; employee dishonesty; fine arts; valuable papers/accounts receivable; used and rare books; computer equipment/software; business liability protection; tenants' legal liability; employee benefits liability; hired and non-owned auto liability; theft; workers' compensation; coverage for cafés/restaurants.
