On Friday, February 19, Winter Institute (Wi16) attendees are invited to join a session dedicated to successfully fulfilling online sales called “Managing Online Sales Growth.”

Since March 2020, independent bookstores have seen massive online sales growth. Moderated by ABA Senior Manager of IndieCommerce Geetha Nathan, this session will explore how bookstores are successfully managing their online sales.

The panel will consist of booksellers from small and large stores who are managing high-volume online sales on a variety of ecommerce-enabled platforms. Panelists will include Jamie Thomas of Women & Children First in Chicago, Illinois; Luis Correa of Avid Bookshop in Athens, Georgia; Lexi Beach of Astoria Bookshop in Astoria, New York; Warren Lee of 44th and 3rd Bookseller in Norcross, Georgia; and Cheryl Lee of 44th and 3rd Bookseller in Norcross, Georgia.

Booksellers will hear about what panelists have learned over the past year as well as shortcuts and tips that are making their lives easier. Topics to be discussed include using project management tools to keep staff organized; services that can help streamline the process; and communicating effectively with customers. There will also be time allotted for Q&A.

If you are struggling with managing your store's online orders or looking for tips to make things easier, this session is definitely for you.

The 2021 Winter Institute will be held virtually from Thursday, February 18, through Saturday, February 20. The full Wi16 schedule can be found here. Questions about the event can be sent to [email protected].
