The American Booksellers Association is inviting booksellers to join ABA CEO Oren Teicher for a Spring Booksellers Forum in Atlanta, Georgia, next week.  The program, featuring an open forum discussion, an education session, and lunch, is being presented in conjunction with the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance and the Great American Bargain Book Show Springtime event at the AmericasMart.

The Booksellers Forum will be held on Thursday, March 14, from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Vining Room of the Westin Peachtree Hotel. Teicher will lead the open discussion of industry issues, but attendees are encouraged to bring their questions and comments.

On Friday, March 15, from 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. in the Exhibit Hall in Building 2, West, on the second floor of the AmericasMart, ABA will present “The Top 10 Things You Must Do Now!” featuring 10 creative things that booksellers can do to make their stores more successful and profitable in 2013. Culled from a recent ABA member survey, these top 10 ideas will feature best practices proven to great success by their bookselling colleagues. A broad range of topics will be covered, including marketing/promotion, finances, store operations, human resources, inventory, ambiance, customer service, and more.

ABA’s program is free and open to all booksellers — ABA and SIBA members and non-members alike. For planning purposes, an RSVP to SIBA Executive Director Wanda Jewell is requested no later than March 8.

The complete Day of Education at GABBS and SIBA in the Springtime is free to SIBA members. SIBA members should e-mail Jewell for the special member code before registering.
