This will be a banner year for booksellers who place an early order through the Ingram Content Group’s Banned Books Week promotion, which begins today, August 31.

While supplies last, booksellers will receive a handsome 13" x 39" Banned Books Week banner when they order 25 books from a list of more than 450 banned or challenged titles featured on iPage®, Ingram’s search and order content platform. The promotion also offers stores an additional discount on their initial order and subsequent orders placed before October 5.

For more information about the Ingram program or to place an order, stores should contact their Ingram sales representative; call Ingram Customer Care at (800) 937-8200; or e-mail [email protected].

Ingram is a strong supporter of Banned Books Week, which this year runs from Sunday, September 25, through Saturday, October 1. In 2013, it joined American Booksellers for Free Expression (ABFE) in creating a promotional kit that is distributed to members of the American Booksellers Association. This year’s kit has been sent to 500 stores.

In a survey conducted by ABFE following Banned Books Week last year, booksellers asked for new ways to attract attention to their displays of banned and challenged titles. The new banner, which will be rolled and mailed to stores in a tube, is intended to fill that need.
