Help With Processing Online Credit Card Orders
With so many IndieCommerce sites processing credit card orders with their own credit card merchant account for the first time, the IndieCommerce team has put together this instruction page. This tutorial will help if:
- Your store webstie is on IndieCommerce (not IndieLite)
- Your IndieCommerce orders go through your own credit card processor and Authorize.net account

It’s Credit Card Fraud Season
As the holiday shopping season starts to ramp up, so will the number of fraudulent online transactions. Pay careful attention to your online orders before processing them. This is a great time to familiarize yourself with the most recent red flags to watch for when reviewing orders for fraud.
Be very careful when bulk processing online orders. It’s very tempting to not review orders for fraud before using this feature, but it’s almost certain you will accidentally process a fraudulent order if you don’t know what to watch for. What we are seeing now are orders for around $50 or less where the shipping and billing addresses are not the same and the IP address of the user does not match the location of either the shipping or billing address.
For example, the shipping address might be New York City, the billing address is in Boston, and the IP address is in California. When you call the phone number on the order, no one picks up or the number is not valid. These red flags together indicate that this is probably a fraud order.
