At 1:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, July 10, indie booksellers across the nation will unveil the book jacket for Adam Silvera’s Infinity Son as part of a widespread cover reveal coordinated by HarperCollins in partnership with the American Booksellers Association.
With the exclusive cover reveal will be the opportunity to encourage customers to pre-order the title at indie bookstores. The book, the first in an epic new fantasy series, publishes January 14, 2020.
“We are so proud to be partnering with Adam and the ABA on this initiative supporting the indies and the shop local message,” said Nellie Kurtzman, vice president of marketing and publicity at HarperCollins. “The innovative approach to the traditional cover reveal, coupled with Adam’s strong social media presence and passionate fan following, should make for a great campaign.”
The goal of the cover reveal and pre-order campaign is to build excitement for the title among indie booksellers but also to provide an alternative to the typical book announcements that primarily link to online competitors for sales.
Stores that would like to participate in the cover reveal should sign up here. Details about the cover reveal and pre-order campaign are also available on ABA’s Pre-order Calendar on BookWeb.
Participating stores will receive digital ads and other social media assets to help announce the reveal and pre-order campaign as well as cartons of signed books that can be offered to customers. HarperCollins, Epic Reads, and Silvera will also promote the campaign.
Suggested social copy and a teaser graphic will be sent to participating stores on Wednesday, July 3; a teaser graphic with book quote will be delivered on Monday, July 8; and the final cover, pre-order graphics, and a behind-the-scenes letter from Silvera will be available to stores on Wednesday, July 10, ahead of the reveal.
Stores that sign up to participate will also be added to Silvera’s website as part of a list of stores accepting pre-orders.
