Independent Bookstore Day Debuts 2019 Logo

On April 27, 2019, Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) will mark its fifth anniversary of celebrating independent booksellers nationwide. The commemorative logo is now available on the IBD website, and booksellers are invited to use it however they wish.

Also for 2019, IBD is instituting a new ordering process. The catalog of exclusive, limited-edition literary merchandise will be unveiled on January 15, 2019, but to streamline ordering and communication, stores will order all items directly through Ingram.

Special items for 2019 will include merchandise from Sesame Street, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Charles Bukowski, Atlas Obscura, Miriam Toews, and more. In addition, the 2019 tote bags will be available at a lower price, courtesy of a publisher sponsor.

IBD staff will be on hand to talk about the event at ABA’s Winter Institute 14 in Albuquerque, which takes place January 22–25, 2019.
