Edelweiss, an online, interactive catalog system developed by Above the Treeline, will be available free to booksellers and other industry catalog users for the fall selling season. Booksellers interested in learning more about the system, whose list of participating publishers is at 13-plus and growing, can sign up now for a WebEx demonstration. Above the Treeline staff will also be demonstrating the product at BookExpo America this May and at all of the fall regional shows.

Edelweiss does not require that users be part of Above the Treeline -- any retailer or librarian will be able to both receive mailings from publishers and view catalogs on the site.

Publishers currently participating in Edelweiss beta tests are Chronicle Books, Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins, Ingram Publisher Services, John Wiley & Sons, Penguin Group (USA), Random House, Simon & Schuster, Thomas Nelson, and Tyndale House Publishers. Publishers set to join Edelweiss for the fall season include Cambridge University Press, Columbia University Press, and Workman.

To find out online demo times and to sign up, booksellers should send an e-mail request to [email protected].
