Here, the IndieCommerce team shares an important look at current trends in the world of e-commerce.
The ecommerce conversion rate (the percentage of customers who completed a purchase online) last week dropped by 2.60 percent, bringing it down to 5.19 percent from 5.33 percent the previous week. Although the conversion rate dropped slightly, it was offset by an increase in the average order value, which went up 6.48 percent last week.
Another big factor last week was the number of users. Traffic remained steady, with just a slight 1.64 percent drop in users last week (blue line), when compared to the previous week (orange line).
Although both the conversion rate and traffic dropped slightly last week, those decreases were offset by the increase in the average order value. This resulted in overall revenue for last week increasing by 2.16 percent when compared to the previous week.
