Binc Announces Online Holiday Gift Guide
This week, the Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation launched its first-ever holiday gift guide. Featuring an assortment of gifts, the guide includes items that give back to Binc and therefore support booksellers in need, along with a wide array of unique offerings from more than 30 indie bookstores across the country.
“We know how important the holiday shopping season is to independent bookstores, and we’re excited to showcase products from a number of indie bookstores,” said Binc Executive Director Pam French. “We hope the gift guide will help shoppers support those stores in a new way.”
The gift guide will also include an exclusive Binc T-shirt designed by illustrator and designer Henry Sene Yee.
“What Binc does for indie bookshops and comic book stores is amazing. I’m thrilled to be a part of it — and I hope everyone loves the T-shirt,” said Yee.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, Binc has been able to help more than 600 households since January, along with hundreds of independent book and comic book stores across the United States. The need continues today; every week, Binc hears from store employees facing a myriad of issues related to COVID, national disasters, medical crises, and other unforeseen emergencies.
“We are still in a very precarious moment with rising COVID rates and a steep decline in foot traffic during the most important sales season for stores,” said French. “The gift guide is our way of raising funds while reminding everyone to shop indie this holiday season.”
Booksellers in need of assistance are encouraged to take a look at the assistance page on the Binc website and to contact Binc directly at [email protected] or (866) 733-9064.
