Here’s what’s happening in the world of indie bookstores this week:

Books Around the Corner opened on November 2 in Gresham, Oregon.

River Bend Bookshop in Glastonbury, Connecticut, opened on November 23.

Between the Covers in Holland, Michigan, is settling into its new location.

The Journal News reported that Bronx River Books is part of the independent bookstore comeback.

MahoganyBooks in Washington, D.C., was featured on American University Radio in a story about breaking book deserts.

The Charlotte Sun featured Copperfish Books in Punta Gorda, Florida, in its Business Spotlight series.

The River Journal talked about hosting events and partnering with local businesses with Scattered Books in Chappaqua, New York.

CommonWealth reported that indie bookstores are the anchor of many downtown shopping districts.

SecretNYC included Cafe Con Libros, Strand, McNally Jackson, Revolution Books, Astoria Bookshop, Bluestockings Books, Word Up, and The Lit. Bar on a list of the 12 best bookstores in New York City. Inhabit also featured a list of small specialty bookstores in New York City, which included several member stores.
