Algonquin Offers Free eBook of The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving

Starting Tuesday, May 21, independent booksellers will be able to join other retailers in offering customers a free e-book of Jonathan Evison’s The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving as part a weeklong promotion from Algonquin Books.

Through ABA’s partnership with Kobo, booksellers can direct customers to their online stores, where the Kobo eBook can be downloaded for free from May 21 to May 27.

“We’re always eager to try something new and unconventional that will bring readers to our books,” said Algonquin publisher Elisabeth Scharlatt. “Jonathan Evison’s novel, The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, is the perfect book for this promotion, a sweeping big-hearted American story. Moving and funny, with a cast of unconventional characters, it calls out for an unconventional promotion. Our hope is that this one-week offering will create an interest in Evison’s novels, both e-book editions and physical books. What a great way for the indie bookstores to attract more customers to their e-book sales.”

On Monday, May 20, marketing material will be available to ABA members in the Kobo section of BookWeb’s Designs and Downloads and booksellers can begin advertising the promotion on their websites, in newsletters, and via social media. In the coming days, more details will be posted to the IndieCommerce Marketing & Promotions page on BookWeb.
